Dean Innovations understands the importance of helping give back to the local community.

Each month Dean Innovations donates money to local schools and nonprofit organizations in the community. We believe to create a sustainable future; we must support our local community.

For every 100 Yards of Bright Fir sold, we will donate $500.00 to Mary Rieke Elementary School.

GIVE BACK Special for May 2017
In 2012, Rieke was honored with a Green Flag Award by the National Wildlife Federtion’s (NWF) Eco-Schools USA Program. Rieke was the first school in Oregon to receive this designation and the eighth school in the nation to do so. In 2014 we successfully renewed our Green Flag status with a push for biodiversity education for our school and community. Eco-Schools USA is an international program that helps educators integrate sustainable practices throughout their school campuses and curricula. In an effort to maintain this honor, we at Rieke are steadfast in our willingness to preserve our existing garden area.

It is our belief that a vibrant school garden will allow children to develop academically with opportunities to utilize the garden as a multi-disciplinary classroom and to formulate meaningful connections to the natural world. They will develop physically with opportunities for movement and exercise in the care of the garden and an appreciation for healthy food choices in the fruits and vegetables grown. They will develop socially and personally establishing a sense of purpose, responsibility and pride with collaborative experiences in the garden. Finally, the garden will serve as a focal point for mutual work between teachers, parents and other Hillsdale community members.

To reinvigorate the existing space and expand our native landscape to include edible gardens, the Rieke community would require the following materials: soil and lumber to create garden beds, native plants to replant bioswale and gravel to maintain existing ADA path, fruit and vegetable seeds/ starts, garden tools and equipment to cultivate the garden and materials to build a simple shed to store tools onsite.
