How do I determine how much product to buy?

Use the calculator below to determine the amount of product needed for your project. Remember that if you are “stepping” off the length and width the average stride is about 3’.

*IMPORTANT TIP: ALWAYS ADD 20% TO YOUR CALCULATION TO ALLOW FOR UNEVEN GROUND, SETTLING AND COMPACTION. IT IS LESS EXPENSIVE THAN HAVING TO MAKE ANOTHER TRIP OR SCHEDULING ANOTHER DELIVERY.

How much can I haul at one time?

If you are calculating how much your truck or trailer will hold, a full size truck bed (3/4 or 1 ton) will hold about 3 cubic yards of Mulch slightly rounded. Figure 2 cubic yards of Compost or 1 yard or less of any Rock or Sand product. Reduce the volume by half for small trucks. A typical 8’x4’x2’ utility trailer will hold about 2.5 cubic yards of mulch. Since it is impossible for us to determine the weight capacity of any utility trailer we reserve the right to restrict the amount of product loaded into a trailer. Rock and Sand products are heavy, discretion should be used when loading. Never exceed a manufacturers’ rating.
